Each of us who serves and supports others - personally or professionally are like lighthouses in our families and communities. While lighthouses exist solely to save others from peril by warning them of danger, often, our own private internal spaces are dark and lonely. We often give more light than we receive. So, who protects and cares for the lighthouse?
Cousin, did you know there is a such thing as a "lightkeeper"? A lighthouse keeper or lightkeeper (also known as a "wickie") is responsible for tending and caring for a lighthouse, particularly the light and lens in the days when oil lamps and clockwork mechanisms were used. Think about your flame. Who makes sure your wick is trimmed so your candle burns bright? Who repairs and maintains your body, mind and spirit so you continue to operate in your purpose? Who makes sure your oil is fresh and replenished so you never run out of fuel? Even lighthouses need care and maintenance.
Pause and let our wickies to help take care of YOU!

Turns out, a nap can't fix everything. Just as there are different types of stress and trauma, research is showing there are different types of rest - SEVEN, to be exact. Our bodies, minds and spirits get unique benefits from Sensory, Creative, Emotional, Social, Mental, Physical and Spiritual ways to recover and recharge.
From the Opus website:
"SoundBed uses vibroacoustic technology to deliver low-frequency vibrations throughout your body that quickly releases you out of stress response and into a place of deep relaxation and receptivity.
From the Oura website:
"Oura translates your body's most meaningful messages — sleep, activity, stress, and heart health — to transform how you feel every day. The finger provides the most accurate reading of your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, temperature, and more."
Body-based storytelling advocacy highlighting healing tattoo art through photography, videography, social media, and more.
Our MISSION is to showcase, honor, and amplify storytelling, history, healing and art through the canvases of disenfranchised bodies.
We enVISION a reality where their felt safety
can be co-regulated, restored, reclaimed and respected.
Photo and video shoots are offered to groups of 6 or more subjects at no cost. Shoots are followed by an event or gathering with proceeds directed to the OHI scholarship which support individuals seeking ink to start (or continue) their healing stories.
